Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) near Newberg

In 2016, the Mustard Seed Farms CSA grew about 20 kinds of vegetables with over 90 varieties, plus 3 kinds of cane berries with 8 varieties, so there will be plenty of diversity for you each week. We always hope that the growing conditions are good so the crops will mature on a regular basis. Winter deadline was Oct. 25. Our summer CSA application deadline is June 30 and the application will be available in March.

How does a CSA work?

organic blackberries
A CSA is a subscription program where customers sign up and pay the farm in advance for a weekly share of that season’s produce. This helps the farmer to know how much produce to grow and gives him the resources to do it. The farmer and the customer both share in the risk and the benefits of the season.

What will I get?

A summer share will get you certified organic produce every Tuesday from July 7 through October 27. Mustard Seed Farms will deliver vegetables and berries to a drop point in Newberg, where you can come to pick up your produce. For those on the east side of the river, you can pick up at our farm.

Naturally, the available produce will follow the growing season. The variety and choices you will have in early July will be slimmer than from August on, but you will always get plenty of the tastiest, freshest vegetables and berries around. And come September and October, you will be taking home a tremendous variety! See the Summer Season and Winter Season produce lists below.

A winter share, with produce available every 2 weeks, runs November 11 through March and hopefully into early April. It will include winter squash, stored root crops, cabbage, swiss chard and kale, with cauliflower in the spring.

A summer share (July-October) costs $420 and a winter share $265 or save by buying both for $650. This can be paid in full upon registration, or you can pay part with your registration and the rest 30 days later.
